Sorry for the delay.
HERE are the slides for Ad and PR. And HERE are the slides for Production.
Feel free to discuss. I will also require you to submit a typewritten review of the TrackTalks series that answer any or all of the following questions:
1. What track/s were you interested in before the TrackTalks?
2. What track/s, or specific classes, are you planning to take in the coming semesters?
3. What new information or insights, if any, did you learn from the speakers?
4. What burning question about Comm life and career life was NOT addressed?
5. Do you have any suggestions for future TrackTalks@Com100?
Submissions are due by Friday, August 1 in my pigeonhole at the Department of Communication. Non-submission will be a minus in your participation mark.
I will see you all in class tomorrow! I'll do a lecture on Representations.

The most important matter that a Com major needs to focus on in his sophomore year is to know what track he wants to take for the remaining years of his university life. This is vital because it would focus his specialization in the broad field of communication studies. Moreso, it will set the specific skills that a student should be equipped with especially after graduation. Not only would it focus the student on his specialization, but it will actually make him competitive in the field.
The TrackTalks@Com100 module for Com Seminar was really helpful. I was able to see what the different tracks are actually offering us, Com majors. At the same time, I was able to see to which track are my likes and interests found. I found out that eventhough I set my focus on the Ad and PR track, I might actually find myself ending up in the Production track. During my freshman year, after reviewing all the tracks that the Department of Communication offers, I actually told myself that I will become a specialist in the Ad and PR track. I love advertising. I love giving colors to bland objects. I love talking to people. I love being with people. That is what makes up an Ad and PR person. But through the track talks, I was able to realize that what I really want to do after college is to give color to something that has already been existent for so many years and give it a new face, a new image for the globalizing world. I was actually interested with the presentation of Chris Costello. Being an art director interests me now. Before, I thought art directors would manage sets of TV shows, design the costumes and props to be used in a theatre, or even furnish paintings or art works of people. After showing us his work – repackaging of the KFC brand, I realized that this may be the proper work for me. This leaves me now thinking – should I take the Ad and PR track? Production track? Or both?
The TrackTalks@Com100 module of Com Seminar really helped me a lot in realizing what I really want to take up for my future. At the same time it actually gives us a glimpse of what the Department of Communication is actually offering its undergraduate students. I really hope all Com Seminar classes would experience this (that’s why I suggested that we produce a TrackTalk Plenary for them – which I keep on forgetting to bring up during seminar sessions). I hope this module will be an example for other Com Seminar classes, for them to help their students focus and finalize what they want for their futures.
